Botanical Yoga is
a synergistic approach towards healing that takes place in a classroom style space. The botanical yoga class is both plant
medicine and yoga, weaved together to provide the individual with a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between
plants, people, and the healing path. This group experience is presented in an easy to replicate, do-it-yourself
fashion; providing skills for each attendee to take with them for their home practice.
is a Botanical Yoga workshop that will have you flowing into the Spring season with a deeper knowledge of the body's connection
to Mother Nature and the cleansing process. Dandelion and yoga twist align to cleanse the body after the slumber of
the winter months. During the winter, our energy levels are naturally lower and the tendency to eat fatty foods is higher.
As Spring approaches, the body's response to the warmer days acts as a sign that now is the time to get moving again.The
cyclical nature of the seasons acts as an influence on different organs and functions within the body. Traditionally,
Spring is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder. These organs play important roles in the cleansing, metabolizing
ad digesting processes of the body Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) root is a gentle yet powerful medicine for the
liver, providing the nourishment and stimulation necessary for proper functioning. The actions of dandelion also have
positive effects on the gallblader, notably causing the organ to contract and release stored bile. Dandelion is a wonderful
spring tonic in assisting the body in more effectively achieving what it is already doing naturally. The cleansing process
may further be supported with the physical practice of yoga postures that focus on twisting the body from one side to the
other. The action of twisting compresses the organs, "rinsing out" metabolic by-products and toxins; as the twist
is released fresh nutrient rich blood flows in.
